Mama always told me...

Never leave the house without a good breakfast and always put lipstick on...

and everyone knows I always do as I'm told...

but first, my warm facial...
pardon me, is it hot in here or is just me?

Then my lipstick, my favorite color
"Bell Pepper Red"

There, perfect! Now I'm ready to be seen in public.
Note to self: purchase a better moisturizer my wrinkles are showing...

"Drive-by" shooting in the Pearl...

A normal day for work starts very early for us and typically I leave home before the sun is really awake, or anyone else for that matter. But this particular morning I was later than usual. Perhaps because I was out doing the 7:00 AM photo shoot with my flowers and lollygagging...that word...its so befitting to my personality...anyway...because I was later than normal it was light out by the time I went through the Pearl District in Portland. Its one of the trendiest urban areas with wonderful shops and better yet wonderful window displays for a budding amateur photographer to capture. So what was I do? I had to stop! Not to shop, but to do a drive-by shooting...so with camera in hand...

Toile and The Cozy Inn...

Ok, so typically I don't show my "unmentionables" on public websites but these are so worth "mentioning" plus they are not on me and they're just so stinkin cute, so I think we're OK:)
I love cozying into my jammies every night especially if they're my red and white cotton Toile jammies (from Sue at Christmas)...so I was prattling on about that very thing to my friend Lori yesterday (yes, we talk about anything:) and she asked me to post pictures of them (after all what girl doesn't love her favorite pair of jammies and Toile) so here they are...

A walk in the Healing Garden

Yesterday a very dear friend of mine along with her family, had to face a very difficult time; the death of their beloved friend of whom battled Leukemia for the past year. He was twenty nine years old. As I went through the routine of my day, the sadness they are going through weighed heavily on my mind. It reminded me how quickly life changes so I wanted to honor the gift of the day somehow. I decided a walk on campus through "The Healing Garden" was just the thing. I always have my camera with me, (an old hobby I've picked up again since building this blog) so I took the liberty to take in the scenery and enjoy God's indescribable beauty.
Come join me on my walk...its beautiful out!
God and nature are always in complete control...
as I walked through the garden,
the more in awe I was...
at the color and beauty...
as I remember to be thankful for this day...

"WRITE IT ON YOUR HEART THAT EVERY DAY IS THE BEST DAY OF THE YEAR"...Emerson

So that's today. Today is the best day of the year..I'll try to live it...It's been a long day at work.
I love being home again in the "peace of home with its little piece of quiet". I just couldn't wait to get here and blog-on to just chat after all, I did say I wanted to live my best life so what am I waiting for?
This evening, I'll be my own guest and slip into my favorite Jammies (the red and white cotton Toile) pour myself a cuppa Ice-Wine tea and sit by the fire with the girls in my lap...

Sewing room, can there ever be too many pictures?

Of my little sewing studio...well that depends on who you ask. If you ask me, I never get tired of looking at it and being in there. I am thrilled to just walk into my studio and wander aimlessly looking at all my "stuff". In fact I find I "look and dream" more than do! Tonight I decided to add a few more studio pics, hopefully for those of you that are following my blog you will enjoy doing a little arm chair touring even if you don't sew, its just a cozy warm space... if you're in your favorite Jami's, curl up and enjoy without having to step out of the car...

and antique 1930's Double Wedding Ring quilt.
The quilt was purchased at Houston International Quilt Festival, 2000.

Vintage spools and pin cushions,
Vintage sewing basket is holding the original 1923 bill of sale for treadle machine it is sitting on.
It was originally purchased new in 1923 and belonged to a women by the name of Virginia McKinney.

Note; This room was designed by me, Theresa Bee
(and my handy-dandy sledge hammer that I can't seem to find anymore:~)
But the entire building, construction, design wall, painting and sweat equity
all done by my talented,
tolerant and patient
husband, Mark Bee...

The Sewing Room...

My sweet sewing room where I quilt, sew, play and dream. Its just such a warm cozy place
to be. Like my friend Lori said, "If I had this room, I'd never want to leave it". She is so right, I feel the same way! All my collected treasures live there as you can see. Some people see junk in my room when they look around, I simply see memories with each and every piece. Sort of like when you un-pack the Christmas ornaments every year, each one holds a special memory that will live in your heart forever...

Home, the place I most love to be...

Since I'm new to this blogging business, I just thought I'd try out a few different
images to see what happens. How fun is this...
This is a picture of a beautiful sunny Oregon day in the month of June. Very different than today I might add. It was early morning, the sunshine was beaming and my Wisteria was just loving the warmth of the day as was I.out for my morning walk...
