Pink Saturday...

Hello and happy Saturday everyone, this is my favorite day of the week and today while I was hunting for a fun party to participate in I remembered Beverly from "How Sweet The Sound". Every Saturday she does what has become one of the sweetest parties of the week."Pink Saturday" so today I'm going to play along with a lot of other really talented pink-loving participants!

I don't have anything in particular in mind to post, well no theme really, just a lot of "pink pics and links" that I've done along the way since starting my blog a little over a year ago.

Also I really love what Beverly says about the color pink;
"Pink is a great color, it represents hope, joy and love".

For me,pink reminds my of my bedroom as a little girl, it was painted "Sunset Pink" and represented a cheerful loving place to grow up in. So enjoy my first "Pink Saturday linky party", it was so much fun perusing all my pink links again!

First though one of my favorites photos of my mother in a blush pink gown taken in about 1948-49. I am posting this one today because 29 years ago today, she had to leave this earth yet there is not a day that goes by that I don't think of her...

Next up, the above pink Heisey plate was used in THIS post for a Tablescape Thursday party I participated in at "Between Naps On The Porch"...

above is a photo of the same pink plates sitting under a collection of "Dainty Miss"  that I featured in a "Vintage Thingie Thursday" party last year. Isn't she just so stinking cute!!!

Above is my grandmother's Sterling silver "South Seas" by Community wrapped in pink linen napkins that I did for THIS post.

OK so I hope you had fun for my first Pink Saturday, I know I'm feeling "in the pink" for having played along! I plan on coming back and next time I'll even dress for the party in my favorite pink outfit...or jammies to participate!

Thank you Beverly for this fun, cheerful party!

  5. Love the picture of your mum...I have one of my mum around the same time and all I can think when I see the women from this vintage is how stunningly naturally beautiful they are, and what I wouldnt give to have their pretty gowns now.

  6. That [photo of your mother is real treasure. I love all your pinks, but the plate is the best.

  9. Greetings, Terry!

    I adore the photo of your mom as a young woman. I love, too, the idea of the napkins tied up in lace and the treasured wedding photo attached!!! I just may have to borrow your sweet idea for a birthday garden tea I'm having for my mom. One Christmas, I used tiny youthful photos of the recipients of my holiday gifts as gift tags! It looked so lovely under the tree and everyone had no trouble identifying which gifts were theirs. Thinking beautiful nostalgic thoughts today thanks to you and your post!

    Wishing you a beautiful day in return,
    Linda in Canada
