The quilt pictured above is this years' theme quilt draped over a fence with "The Three Sisters" in the background.
The Three Sisters located in the the Cascade Mountain range in Oregon are three volcanic peaks and is just a charming legend.
North Sister, also known as "Faith," is the oldest and most eroded of the three sisters.
Middle Sister also known as "Hope," is a stratovolcano consisting primarily of basalt. Last erupting approximately 50,000 years ago, it is considered extinct.
South Sister, also known as "Charity," is the youngest and tallest volcano of the trio. It is a stratovolcano, an older structure, no more than 50,000 years old, which last erupted about 2000 years ago...amazing when you think about it really!
They are the third, fourth, and fifth highest peaks in the state of Oregon and are located in the Three Sisters Wilderness area.
The Sisters were named Faith, Hope, and Charity by early settlers and the name has prevailed though most Oregonians simply refer to the town and the mountains as "Sisters, Oregon".

above is the raffle quilt, isn't this just amazing!!! All I can say is,I wish I had won it!!!
Above is what the town looks like during the show...the traffic is redirected so the town becomes pedestrian friendly...
one of the amazing quilts entered; "Daisy and The Cruiser" by Janet Fogg...
and as you can see, the show has a little bit for everyone...even the guy that isn't into quilts can "wish" for a collectors car like the one above!
This darling bike above is this year's patchwork quilt bike from
Blazin' Saddles bike shop in Sisters, Oregon...I have to say, this is about the cutest little "girl bike" I have ever seen and I SOOOO want it!!!
Isn't she cute!!!
So...if you ever get the chance to go to the Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show its worth the trek to Oregon!
Happy trails from Sisters Oregon...
