Mr. LBV re purposed this antique Armoire for our family room a few years ago to house our TV and entertainment equipment. I've never been crazy about the looks of a TV just sitting out in the open and love anything antique and recycled so this was a good solution for us.
Below is the other side of the room and actually this pic was taken to show a friend how "up/down? shades work but gives a good visual reference of the room, glad I saved it:) Mr. LBV and I made the cornice board valences and upholstered them with a 1940 vintage Bark cloth.
Hope you had fun on this little mini tour, now go on over and say hi to Rene and see the wonderful ideas out there of TV storage!
Thank you Rene for hosting a fun party!
Oh my goodness! I adore your photo wall! Perfection! so nice to be able to hide the beast...they are getting bigger and bigger making them harder to hide;)!
ReplyDeleteI'm with you .. I do not like walking into a room and having a TV stand out .... behind closed doors is where it belongs. You have such a lovely and welcoming home...xo HHL
ReplyDeleteThat is great! I wish ours could be concealed...I hate that honkin thing!
ReplyDeleteSo cozy and beautiful! I always wanted an armoire, but then we built the big bookcase/entertainment center and it is out, but at least it has it's own spot! I love love love your gallery wall!!! That is fantastic!
ReplyDeleteI hate a big old honking TV just sitting out there in the open too...but that is what we have at this house in the main living room. I have one in the bedroom that is inside an old sewing armoire and I love that one. Yours is a very nice piece...and you would never believe it housed a TV. I will pop over and see the other ones too! Diana
ReplyDeleteI hate looking at the tv so I put ours in an armoire however the doors are always open so not sure what was the purpose!! You house looks great and I love all the pictures!
ReplyDeleteA beautiful room, your armoire is lovely and I especially love your photo wall arrangement! So glad to find you from C&V.
ReplyDeleteLove the armoire, but what really caught my eye was the photo wall. Love that!
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking!

Lovely armoire!! I also do not like seeing big ol' tvs out. I was so excited in the 90s when people started putting them inside armoires, and now they are back out again, lol. Your armoire is beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteI've spent the last 30 minutes touring your blog and all I can say is my, my, my, my, my....I love your style!!
